Biotechnology companies in Asia are in the rapid developing
phase, and its potential for the regional and global influence for
the next economic growth is promising. The factors contributing
to the expectation are, highly educated human resource, rich funding
and active government involvement to promote life science industry
in the country.
MediBIC has been anticipating the expansion of Asian
market earlier, and carrying out R&D support based on the collaboration
with experts in biotech industry and our global network.
Our partnering strategy is to in-license the technologies
from the U.S. and jointly develop the technology with companies
in Asia. At the same time, we have been actively investing into
business in Asia to build wide range of networks that would potentially
lead to a rise of new technologies that support the R&D effort,
and industry incubation. We are already seeing the good results
from those investments.
In recent years, it is not uncommon for companies [in
the West] to expand into Asian market. However, there is no established
model to enter into Asia, and the path to business expansion remains
unclear to many companies. With our own global network and accumulated
business experiences in Asia, we are able to offer a smoother entry
into Asia for the companies that are anticipating to bring their
business into this the key region for the future Life Science business.
